Day Six: Using New Media To Help the Global Poor and Stop Climate Change

October 7, 2009

DaySix Launch Press Conference.mp3

The faith community has just kicked off DaySix: a cutting-edge initiative that uses social media tools to ensure that vulnerable communities around the globe that are already affected by climate change aren't forgotten when the Senate gets to work on the Kerry-Boxer bill, "Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act." Among the web-based features is 60-second web video, "Here vs There:"

Climate change is an issue of concern for all of us, but it's wreaking havoc on the developing world right now. People of faith have been long-time advocates for moral stewardship of God's creation and have been particularly passionate about the adaptation component -- empowering people in poor and developing communities around the world adapt to the devastating effects of climate change. Day Six will harness the power of the Internet and social media to amplify these important efforts. Visit DaySix.org to find out more!
